HDMI Splitters

What is a Splitter

A splitter is a device that allows you to connect both a monitor and a capture card to a single PokerPC video output.

EDID Copy Function

Some splitters allow you to choose which EDID will be sent to the PokerPC: monitor, capture, or a predefined one from the splitter itself. This function is called "EDID copy".

Splitters have power input, 1 HDMI input, and 2+ HDMI outputs. The EDID switches let you select which EDID is sent to the PokerPC. By default, switches are set to all zeros (off) — check the manual for the "Copy Output 1" setting to confirm.

What Other Splitter Parameters Should I Look At?

Key Parameters
  • Max resolution and frequency. Make sure they are sufficient for your setup.
  • EDID switcher. Look for a splitter with EDID switches - by default it copies EDID from Output1 to the PokerPC.
Watch Out
  • Many splitters don't have an EDID switch. These usually won't work for our purposes.

Note: We don't recommend UGREEN splitters — we've had compatibility issues with them in the past.
